What if I never received my overseas absentee ballot?

As an overseas voter, you should send in a new Voter Registration/Ballot Request form (FPCA) to your local election official every calendar year during which you would like to vote, as well as whenever you change your address. You can submit your form as early as January 1st of that calendar year, to make sure you have plenty of time to iron out any issues that stand in the way of receiving your ballot.

For future reference, ballots start going out to overseas voters who requested them 45 days before the election. If you do not receive yours around that time, it is always best to reach out directly to your election official in the U.S. to find out why, and to make sure you receive your ballot in time to return it by the deadline.

If you submitted your Voter Registration/Ballot Request form to your local election official during the calendar year of this past election but did not receive your ballot, we suggest you reach out to your election official directly to find out why, so that you can clear up any obstacles to receiving ballots for future elections.

You can find contact information for your local election official in the Election Official Directory on our website.
